Job Description:
Benefits Specialist is responsible for analyzing, designing, and administering the organization's employee benefits programs, including qualified and non-qualified pension benefits. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of current benefits, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing detailed analysis to support decision-making. The Benefits Specialist will work with benefits vendors and providing support to employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
" Process monthly benefits billing
" Reconcile benefits premium adjustments.
" Assist with pension coordination and payments.
" Perform benefits audit, 401(k) retirement saving plan.
" Assist with annual compliance testing.
" Gather and analyze benefits enrollment reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
" Collaborate and maintain professional communication with internal and external departments.
" Assist benefits with annual enrollment, Benefits Orientation, and Benefits team projects, etc.
" Manage reimbursement procedures for Retirement gift program, 25-year program, and Charity fund program.
" Respond to employees benefit inquires.
" Maintain employee records.
" Monitor and maintain company intranet system, ServiceNow tickets, Veribeneficial emails.
Education:
Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related discipline
Qualifications:
" 3-5 Years Benefits Administration experience
" Strong analytical and accounting skills are necessary.
" Strong background in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems, with knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft considered a plus.
" Knowledge of federal and state regulations including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Worker s Compensation, Medicare, and Social Security requirements.
" Ability to work in fast past environment, critical thinking skills, willing to collaborate on a variety of topics.
" SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) certification.
