Job Description:
The Benefits Specialist will manage and improve employee benefit programs, ensuring accurate administration, providing employee support, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer health, welfare, and voluntary benefit programs.
- Reconcile healthcare carrier invoices for accuracy.
- Assist employees with benefit inquiries.
- Track benefits eligibility for new hires and status changes.
- Facilitate new hire benefits orientation sessions.
- Maintain ACA compliance records and manage reporting requirements.
- Audit and reconcile vendor invoices, resolving discrepancies.
- Coordinate Open Enrollment and implement plan changes with brokers.
- Compile annual non-discrimination reports for benefit plans.
- Create effective communication materials for benefits.
- Manage employee error reports and oversee HRIS functions for benefits.
- Research new benefit options to enhance employee quality of life.
- Ensure compliance with ERISA and other regulations.
- Process onboarding paperwork and coordinate FMLA/ADA leave processes.
- Manage benefit terminations and communicate with third-party vendors.
- Process Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) and other forms.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 4+ years of benefits administration experience.
- Strong knowledge of employee benefit programs and compliance regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems.
