Set in the historic Johnston Building, formerly the NoMad Hotel, our property boasts a rich legacy dating back to 1903. With design expertise from the Soho House Design team, we've lovingly preserved the building's original charm while infusing it with a fresh, contemporary style.
At The Ned NoMad, we offer an eclectic mix of exclusive and public spaces, including 167 elegantly appointed bedrooms and suites, a lively rooftop bar and terrace restaurant, a first-floor bar, grill, and lounge, and nightly live entertainment at The Atrium Stage. Our public dining options include Cecconi’s, a modern-day classic Italian restaurant inspired by mid-century Trattorias, and Little Ned, a chic spot for handcrafted cocktails and bar classics with views of the Empire State Building.
The Role…
We are on the lookout for a dynamic Head of Bars to join our team and report directly to the Director of Food & Beverage. In this role, you'll thrive in our fast-paced environment, juggling multiple tasks and projects with flair, efficiency, and independence.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize and create innovative and exclusive cocktail menus that reflect the 's luxury image and seasonal focus.
- Develop a diverse selection of craft cocktails, wines, and premium spirits offerings.
- Curate and source unique ingredients, garnishes, and glassware to elevate the bar experience in adherence with the monthly budget and forecast.
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of skilled Bar Manager(s), Bartenders and Barbacks.
- Set performance standards and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Help write and oversee hourly scheduling, providing necessary overtime reports, and tip certification at the end of each week.
- Lead by example throughout each shift, be an integral part in the success of daily or nightly service.
- Liaise with Events Manager to ensure proper pars are met for all member and social events throughout the property.
- Create a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Manage beverage inventories, including ordering, stock rotation, and supplier relationships.
- Develop and refine training plans for all Servers and Bartenders to help enhance beverage knowledge and expand vocabulary to enhance guest interactions.
- Implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability and limit waste.
- Ensure compliance with The Ned’s liquor license stipulations.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure consistency across all bar outlets.
- Oversee bar setup and cleanliness.
- Organize themed bar events, tastings, and mixology workshops for staff and members.
- Collaborate with marketing and PR to develop promotions and special offers.
- Continuously enhance the club's bar program to drive member engagement.
- Help develop and manage budgets for each bar outlet.
- Monitor revenue, costs, and profitability, adjusting as needed.
- Ensure all bar operations comply with legal regulations and department of health standards.
- Implement safety protocols and training for the bar team, including but not limited to TIPS.
- Responsible for always maintaining the ambiance of Club/ Public spaces (including light, music, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Bartender or Bar Manager in a luxury or upscale establishment.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Creativity and the ability to design unique bar programs.
- Proficiency in inventory management and cost control.
- Knowledge of relevant local liquor laws and regulations.
- A passion for providing outstanding service and exceeding member expectations.
