About the Job
- The BI Engineer will write SQL queries and/or pyspark using our Databricks database to optimize and prepare for BI consumption (star-schema) for specific KPIs
- Develop semantic models in Tabular Editor 3 and reporting in Power BI to improve the speed and quality of the decision-making process across the Supply Chain
- Work with internal partners to find opportunities to utilize company data to drive solutions
- Manage workflow in a version controlled environment and participate in peer reviews
- Develop BI using best practices, standardized designs, data validation, and documentation
- The BI Engineer will troubleshoot and analyze data inconsistencies, bugs, and performance related issues
- Report on project progress and connect with company management and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required; Concentration in Computer Science, IT/IS, Engineering, Statistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
- At least 3 years of experience in data/BI engineering or related field (software engineering, data analytics, business intelligence, data science)
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements and vice versa
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Ability to take initiative, handle multiple tasks, shift priorities, and meet deadlines
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as necessary, with little oversight
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Mastery of SQL
- Expert in DAX
- Expert in Power BI visualization and storytelling
- Expert in data modeling and relational databases
- Expert in performance tuning techniques
- Proficient with Tabular Editor
- Proficient with Git, CI/CD processes, and knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar tools
- Python, especially pyspark
- Experience with Azure Databricks and/or Azure Data Lake Storage
- Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage
- Experience with Git, CI/CD processes, and knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar tools
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
