Bilingual Collections RepresentativeA wonderful retail electricity client located in the River Oaks area of Houston is actively seeking a dependable Bilingual Collections Representative for their contact center! As an Electricity Collections Agent, you will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding payments from customers for electricity services. Your primary goal is to ensure timely payments, resolve billing discrepancies, and maintain positive customer relationships.

- Review and process electricity bills for accuracy.
- Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments.
- Generate and send payment reminders and collection notices.
- Communicate with customers regarding overdue accounts and outstanding balances.
- Address customer inquiries related to billing and payment discrepancies.
- Provide information on payment options and assistance programs.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with customers facing financial difficulties.
- Work with customers to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of customer interactions and payment arrangements.
- Prepare reports on collection activities and account statuses.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to collections practices.
- Follow company policies and guidelines for collections procedures.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while enforcing payment policies.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as customer service and finance, to resolve complex issues.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay informed about company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual Spanish/English required
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in finance or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in collections, preferably in the utility or electricity sector.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills. Familiarity with billing systems and accounting principles.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing collections practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Proficient in using computer applications, including billing and customer relationship management software.
