Job Overview: As a Bilingual Customer Service Representative, you will professionally and courteously handle patient and insurance services through various communication channels. You will play a key role in managing patient accounts, ensuring quality control, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:Key Responsibilities:
- Answer, forward, and log incoming calls as directed by the Central Business Office (CBO) Manager and Supervisor.
- Understand insurance and patient responsibilities related to account balances and billing.
- Resolve patient, physical therapy center, and internal account inquiries, both verbal and written. Forward unresolved inquiries to the appropriate team members.
- Process patient payments accurately and update accounts.
- Handle incoming mail according to department protocols.
- Document all verbal and written communications in the billing system.
- Assist other departments and staff members with patient account inquiries.
- Provide feedback on changes in payers, plans, contracts, addresses, or other vital billing information.
- Adhere to all HIPAA requirements as defined by the Compliance Department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned when not handling inbound calls.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Fluent in Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in computer and Windows-based technologies.
- Experience in a phone or call center environment.
- Medical background (insurance, front desk, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Positive attitude and ability to handle difficult situations.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Minimum of one year of customer service experience.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
- Office Environment
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift weight up to 35 lbs.
