About the Job
We are seeking a Bilingual Global Sourcing Manager to join our Supply team at our headquarters. In this role, you will drive growth by identifying new suppliers and advancing initiatives with existing partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Management & Program Development
- Build and nurture trusting relationships with key supplier decision-makers.
- Lead the annual demand planning process for each commodity to maximize opportunities and sales.
- Assess risks and provide recommendations regarding payments and payment holds.
- Collaborate with Strategic Supply Managers on packaging development and negotiate payment terms.
- Mentor and support Supply Account Managers on shared supplier accounts.
Developing New Key Suppliers and Products
- Field inquiries from potential new suppliers, qualifying them for commercial viability and overseeing the approval process.
- Create plans, budgets, and deliverables to secure supplier/product approvals while evaluating investment and support opportunities.
- Provide supply options and pricing to support sales, market, and R&D initiatives.
- Negotiate supplier contracts to secure favorable terms.
Market Engagement and Education
- Analyze global markets by commodity and region to identify opportunities for sales growth.
- Review trade intelligence data to engage relevant suppliers and understand the competitive landscape.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on commodity seasons, sharing crop statuses and product availability with internal teams.
- Contribute content for the quarterly Business & Crop Highlights report distributed to customers.
- Represent the company at trade shows and during customer/supplier visits.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in supplier management and development within the fruits and/or vegetables sector; frozen experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential.
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Microsoft Dynamics is a plus.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong negotiation and presentation abilities.
- Well-organized self-starter capable of multitasking and managing conflicting priorities and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with sound judgment and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse personalities, fostering a strong team spirit; a good sense of humor is a plus.
- This position requires up to 20% domestic and international travel.
