Tecta America was named the #1 Roofing Contractor for 2022, 2023 and 2024! We are currently looking for a Service Sales Representative to join our team in our Hialeah, Florida Operating Unit.
Service Sales Representative
The Service Sales Representative is responsible for business development of our Service Department Business including our preventive maintenance service contract products. You will sell to new and existing clients and schedule sales appointments via self-generated leads. In your role, you will work in a business-to-business setting in which you will cover an assigned territory and build a portfolio of accounts via prospecting and referrals. Due to the nature of the services we offer, you will very rarely make one-call closes. In most cases you will build client relationships over the course of a sales cycle that may last up to 18 months and require multiple sales calls. This position reports to the General Manager.
Job Functions
- Visits customers’ or potential customers’ facilities to help determine overall roof service needs on a long-term basis and assists to design programs to meet those needs
- Conducts roof top inspections of existing systems and secures opportunities to quote on customer requirements. Prepares full estimate including pictures, drawings and other description
- Prepares professional quote for roof services and presents full scope of quotation to customers
- Maintain current information about customers, facilities, operations and personnel on customer contact management system
- Assists in the collection of outstanding receivables and identifies potential problems that may delay the payment of open invoices
- Provides Sales and lost business reports
- Follow up on direct mail campaigns
- Present clients with the most appropriate solutions
- Assemble proposals and reports for clients
- Submit all contacts and documentation in a timely manner
- Follow up with clients on a periodic basis to ensure that their expectations are being met and to get referrals
- Work with Service Coordinator to understand where/how to generate additional leads and referrals
- Coordinate with GeneralManager to develop sales strategies and, when necessary, to close deals
- Manage the service projects won through your efforts.
- Perform other related tasks as may be assigned.
- Prospect via cold calls, emails, door-to-door calls, networking and referrals
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential)
- Demonstrated success in sales, a strong record of achievement and a proven ability to achieve results.
- Ability to apply negotiation skills to a variety of sales situations.
- 3 – 5 years sales experience in roofing, construction or a related field
- Ability to manage/qualify leads and close business through direct contact or over the phone.
- Excellent track record in developing relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
- Solid project management skills
- Solid verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including SharePoint and CRM.
- Ability to climb ladders and walk/inspect roofs.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle.
- Ability to travel locally out of the office 80% of the time.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Construction, Marketing or Management or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
- Proven track record of client retention.
- Strong commercial roofing experience.
- Professional sales training methodology, such as Sandler.
- Knowledge of business and management principles

Working Conditions
Physical surroundings: Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature as well as exposure to typical hazards of jobsite, including ladders, construction materials, etc.
Physical Effort: Extensive sitting. Repetitive keying, typing, climbing ladders.
Domestic Travel:Local
Extensive Hours: Not subject to overtime
