Circle of Care Pediatric Home Healthcare Company is looking for individuals to fill immediate positions to provide Speech Language Therapy to patients in the home, daycare or community setting as prescribed by the attending physician. Candidate must be able to treat Spanish speaking children and communicate with the parents.
Job Summary:
The speech pathologist/audiologist assistant is a qualified professional person who provides speech therapy services to patients in the home as prescribed by the attending physician.
Qualifications:
- At least a bachelor's degree
- One (1) full year of supervised work experience preferred
- Licensure or certification by the state of Texas as an SLPA
- Fluent in Spanish
Special Requirements:
-Reliable transportation
-Must have a car with current insurance coverage
-Valid state driver's license
Some of the Responsibilities include:
1. Plans activities and provides therapeutic services for speech and language disorders
2. Records type of treatment and patient's reaction to it on clinical/progress notes, which are written on the day of the visit and incorporated in the patient's record weekly.
3. Maintains adequate records on all patient's, including summary reports
4. Utilizes community resources and Agency personnel for proper referral
5. Be supervised by an SLP as follows: Minimum of two hours per week (1 hour direct, on site and 1 hour indirect). Follow guidelines for supervision as outlined by the State Board for Speech Language Pathology & Audiology
6. Attends case conferences as requested
7. Participates in staff development activities and in-service education as requested
8. Confirms, on a weekly basis, the scheduling of visits with the Patient Care Coordinator and/or ST Supervisor to coordinate necessary visits with other personnel
9. Notifies Agency of absences due to illness, emergency leave, normal vacation periods, or special professional meetings, which will all affect agreed services with the Agency
10. Participates with staff, supervising SLP, patient, and physician in discharge planning activities and completes the speech therapy discharge summary within the designated framework of the Agency policies.
