Billing Coordinator - New York City - Kaufman Borgeest & Ryan

Midtown law firm seeks Billing Coordinator, with solid understanding of law firm billing policies and procedures, to join our growing Accounting team.

Billing Coordinator responsibilities may include:

Generate and distribute prebills on a monthly basis.

Review and enter change to prebills in accounting program to ensure invoices are rendered according to client requirements.

Prepare invoices (Paper bills or submit electronically invoices through electronic billing systems) on a monthly basis.

Prepare supporting documentation as required by the clients.

Follow up prebills and cover letters not returned.

Maintain billing information and special instructions in accounting database.

Create new matter in electronic billing systems.

Monitor and submit case budgets in electronic billing systems.

Monitor and submit timekeeper billing rates and staffing plans in electronic billing systems.

Submit invoice appeals through various electronic billing systems as need.

Respond to various billing related inquiries.

Requirements:

2+ years of previous experience in legal billing experience

Familiarity and working knowledge of UTBMS codes and LEDES1998B format

Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and within a team environment

Strong analytical, problem-solving and productivity skills

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Flexibility with overtime as necessary

Knowledge of Surepoint, Excel, MS Word and Outlook skills

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (hourly rate: $38.46 - $49.45 --- 35 Hour Work Week) – The salary offered to a successful candidate, who will work in New York City, will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience with the required industry, education, etc.
