About the Job
Better Morning emerged as an outpatient behavioral health practice in Ashburn, VA in the year of 2014.
In addition to providing counseling from the Ashburn office, Better Morning started off as a certified provider for intensive in home and community-based services (IHCBS), for at risk youth in District of Columbia.
In August of 2017, Better Morning was certified as a Core service agency (CSA) by DC Department of Behavioral Health. Better morning founder’s passion for at risk youth and their family were the motivation to keep expanding the evidenced based programs to meet the need of the underserved population.
Job Description- Perform consumer eligibility and benefits checks, accurate billing across Medicaid/Medicare and private insurance payers
- Perform enrollment, credentialing, authorization checks
- Revenue lifecycle management including eligibility verification, claim submission, remittance advice follow-up, payment posting
- Compliance with payer requirement & government regulations
- Supervision, including training, work allocation and issue resolution for billing team
- Carry out all billing activities in adherence to established standards and protocols
- Carry out error analysis of claim failures
- Assign manageable tasks to billing staff
- Collect and analyze information about consumers to be able to record and process billing effectively
- Strong billing experience in hospital environment
- Minimum 5 years experience in billing for DC Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance payers
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Electronic Medical Records Systems especially iCAMS/Credible
- Associates Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred, NACM or similar certification preferred
- Familiarity with the following tools MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Deep knowledge and understanding of revenue cycle, remittance and payment posting, Medicare and Medicaid, and third party private insurance payers
- Understanding of rules and regulations affecting medical billing and insurance verification
- Ability to provide accurate answers to inquiries from customers and internal team
- Ability to train and supervise the work of billing team by effectively organizing, prioritizing and scheduling tasks
- Strong ability to solve problems in an organized manner.
