Responsible to the Billing & Payments Manager for performing duties related duties related to processing regular billing cycles, correcting billing errors, billing issues for members accounts, and other billing matters for member accounts and/or performing duties related to member payments, account adjustments and refunds, capital credits, collections and write-offs and account research as needed. Assists with other Billing and Payment team tasks as needed.
This is a NON-EXEMPT onsite position at our Sedalia office with no remote or hybrid work options available.
You will...
- Maintain Membership data including Process W9's and name changes.
- Research and resolve updates/changes related to Joint Memberships, Membership problems, and others membership issues.
- Support accurate, timely working of the deposit processes including release/apply deposits per policy and process when account criteria are met.
- Waive, assess, re-assess as required including for change in usage accounts.
- Support the monthly deposit interest process. Void/cancel uncashed deposit refund checks.
- Work on the daily payment processing requirements including posting and balancing all payment channels. Posting auto-pay files daily. Daily Returns.
- Support the credit balance process.
- Process refunds include running TRIB (Transfer/Refund Inactive Balances)
- Process returned refund checks. Void/cancel uncashed refunds.
- Complete work associated with Capital Credits including Transfers, splits, and deceased/dissolved retirements.
- When working on deceased/dissolved retirements, you will manage/track documentation required for release of capital credits.
- Supporting the annual allocation process.
- Processing returned refund checks.
- Support the collections processes and efforts including Process delinquent events including Penalty, Notices, Reminder Calls and Disconnects.
- Support Payment Specialist II in monthly write off processing and reporting as needed.
- Monitor and work assigned tasks.
- Support MSR's via calls to team.
- Assist in meeting department and team goals.
- Participate in team training.
- Provide detailed account research to answer customer questions and/or resolve open issues on accounts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- High school diploma or equivalent certificate is required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: [Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint].
- Competent with general office equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts is desired.
- Experience with NISC or other billing/payment software is desired. Proficient computer skills.
Hourly Range: $25.31 - $31.60
