Billing Specialist (Private Pay Biller)

Full Time Days | 8am-4:30pm | Monday-Friday

*** $17-$20/hr based on experience***

The Billing Specialist supports our mission and values by managing accounts receivable follow up to create positive cash flow and exceed highest practical industry standards.

The Billing Specialist primary responsibilities will include:

• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care and Commercial Insurance.
• Following up on unresolved claims from the Aging reports.
• Make phone calls and use insurance company websites to check on claim status.
• Identify why payment has not been received from the payer.
• Take appropriate actions to resolve issues in a way that results in payment and/or complete closure of insurance balance in a timely manner.
• Organized and detailed, efficient, and accurate in work performance.
• Possess and display excellent customer service skills and proper communication skills.
• Assist in the completion of reports for audits, surveys, etc.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of all resident information.
• Must attend training to maintain a basic knowledge of current billing guidelines, including additional payer types.

What is required in this position?

• Must have completed High School or equivalent education.
• Prior experience with Long Term Care Medicaid Billing is preferred.
• Must be able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, etc.
• Must be able to operate a copy/fax machine, telephone, and adding machine, etc, in such a manner as to complete the assignments given.
