Billing Specialist II
Omnia Healthcare Group is seeking a Billing Specialist II to join their team! The Billing Specialist II will be conducting a variety of billing tasks for Medicaid/Managed Cared for their assigned facilities.As well as communicate with insurance providers to complete Medicaid ICO billing on a monthly basis. This is a temporary role with an expected end date of January 2025
Billing Specialist II Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review PCC Action Summary report on the following census transactions: Actual/Readmission, Discharged/Expired, Transfer Out/In and payer changes.
- Review payer tree and insurance information prior to billing and coordinate with facility on any questions with regards to resident’s insurance plans.
- Review resident’s authorization from Managed Care/Managed Care providers as applicable and coordinate with facility any issues with the authorization and ensure insurance authorization are saved in PCC-Documents.
- Complete Medicaid/Managed Care Pre-billing checklist prior to generating billing and ensure claims are checked prior to transmission.
- Collaborate with AR Manager/ Team Lead on submission of appeals and resolution of unpaid claims in a timely manner.
- Partner with AR team members, facility, vendor, and other third party to ensure all documentation needed for billing and collections are achieved.
- Review Medicaid Pending logs received from facility for Medicaid long term care approvals and generate/transmit claims.
- Assist in entering the IL billing system for Co-insurance A (code 72) for accounts that did not cross over and completion of IL Medicaid Co-insurance A write-offs with supporting documentation for cost report.
- Submission of monthly aging with comments on outstanding accounts to AR Manger, Team Lead, VP of Revenue Cycle.
- Analyze accounts with credits or debits after payments are posted and review EOBs to determine the next steps.
- Process, submit write-offs request with complete supporting documentation and post after approval.
- All other duties as assigned.
Billing Specialist IIQualifications and Skills:
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both in writing and in-person.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
Billing Specialist II Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of billing experience in healthcare industry, skilled nursing facility preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
