JOB SUMMARY
Performs complex review and analysis of individual radiation oncology plans to identify and determine
appropriate charge capture and patient billing.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Essential Functions
Reads radiation oncology plans to identify dosimetry calculations and treatment devises used in the delivery of radiation therapy.
Reviews physician documents to determine the level of complexity for simulation procedures and clinical treatment plans.
Applies critical pedagogic skills in engineering compliance initiative.
Develops, implements and monitors processes to ensure all technical and professional charges are appropriately captured.
Understands and utilizes radiation charge master for both professional and technical fees, and in all related databases.
Develops, implements and manages radiation specific compliance programs and provides recommendations to improve documentation accuracy.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospital Administration or related field.
Experience
Required: Three years billing, coding or cost accounting experience to include two years in a medical service environment, insurance or related field. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.
Preferred
Certifications: Certified Professional Coder (CPC) from an accredited organization.
