About the Job
Job Desc:
- Using established protocols, monitor, research and update patient accounts to reconcile and maximize reimbursement.
- Answers patient, insurance calls and correspondence resolving questions in a time frame that meets or exceeds department standards.
- Acts as liaison between Patient Accounts and physician offices, insurance carriers and other third-party payers to assist with questions and resolve unpaid accounts.
- Follow guidelines to adjust accounts based upon the patient/account status (deceased patient, small balance, charity, etc.).
- Monitors daily electronic claims transmission, researches and resolves electronic claim rejections, understands and performs charge corrections, understand the rejection code subsystem and ensures accurate postings of cash and rejections codes, reviews insurance reimbursement to verify compliance with fee schedules, appeal underpayments using correct venue per third party carriers, and review insurance payments for correct reimbursement.
- Performs all billing, follow up and cash postings duties as needed and perform other duties as assigned related to the Patient Accounts Department.
Experience Req:
- 2 years of experience in healthcare business setting. Education in a related field is accepted in lieu of this work exp. (example: billing/coding schooling)
- A/R experience ideal
- 1 year of EPIC exp
- 1 year of successful customer service exp with patients and insurers
Location: REMOTE role! (Must live in state of Washington)
Equipment provided by PacMed
Schedule: 8:30-5pm M-F while in training (at least first 4 weeks) then can flex to start earlier between 7am-8:30am.
Duration: 6 month contracts
Interviews: Virtual w/ Revenue cycle manager and supervisor
