Billing Surgical Charge Coder - Centennial, Co

Compensation:  $22 - $26 Hourly

Overview: Nexus HR is looking for an experienced Billing Charge Coder for a reputable clinic in Centennial, Co. 

About the Job

The Billing Charge Coder will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy of all charges and facilitating timely, proper reimbursements. Maintains a professional demeanor, uphold confidentiality, and adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Serve as the point of contact for provider-based billing inquiries, including coding processes and the implementation of new codes.

• Review all new codes prior to implementation.

• Provide surgical quotes to patients and ensure pre-collection of any outstanding payments before surgery.

• Enter daily charges for ENT surgical patients from dictation.

• Request and follow up on any missing surgical reports.

• Verify that codes are correct and that all necessary codes for services are entered.

• Review and reconcile all unresolved encounters on a weekly basis.

• Perform other responsibilities as delegated by management.

• Serve as a backup for the Payment Contract Specialist.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• 5 years of experience in a medical office performing medical billing processes.

• 2 years of billing experience.

• Certified coder background preferred.

• Experience with Greenway EHR.

• Proficiency in CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Access)
