We are seeking a motivated BIM Assistant Project Manager to support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) team. This entry-level position is perfect for recent graduates or those with a couple of years of experience in the construction field, offering a clear career path toward becoming a Project Lead or Project Manager within our Electrical, Mechanical/Plumbing, or Construction Management departments.
Position Summary:
The BIM Assistant Project Manager will play a key role in assisting with essential project functions such as document control, scheduling, project tracking, submittals, and issue tracking. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and grow within the industry, with no prior BIM experience required. The role begins as a contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with document control, ensuring that all project documents are organized and easily accessible.
- Support project scheduling, helping to coordinate timelines and ensure that projects remain on track.
- Track project progress and assist with the management of project deliverables.
- Manage submittals, ensuring that all necessary documents are submitted on time and meet project requirements.
- Help with issue tracking, identifying potential problems and working with the team to develop solutions.
- Collaborate with team members across various levels to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Recent graduate or associate degree in a related field such as Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in the construction industry. Prior experience in document control, scheduling, or project tracking within construction projects is a plus.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and a strong aptitude for learning new software tools. Experience with Smartsheet and Navisworks is highly desirable. While no prior BIM experience is required, an interest in learning BIM technology is encouraged.
