SCHEDULE: 4:00 AM - 2:00 PM (MON-TH)
What You'll Do
This position is a full-time permanent position in a manufacturing environment. This position will be responsible for assisting in the manufacturing of charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper.
This position requires learning all of the printing aspects needed to be an operator on the printing press. Development of skills needed to run the press is critical. The company will monitor your progress in this area and give periodic reviews.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Take direction from Web Press Lead the effort of the aiding operators of the assigned shift.
- Aid operators in troubleshooting printing related problems and suggest courses of action.
- Maximize production output through continuous process improvement.
- Minimize production waste through continuous process improvement.
- Learn all press process control functions and how to utilize them.
- Review production schedule with operators in order to adhere to them and suggest efficient changes where warranted.
- Learn to decipher and follow job ticket instructions.
- Continuous training in web press printing to become a future Web Press Operator.
- Continuous training in pre-press to become a functional Belt Technician.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Able to operate computer proficiently.
- Demonstrate working in a smart and safe manner.
- Learn to accurately and if necessary to complete work center time sheets by shift end.
- Learn and perform all web press sides duties:
- Prepare rolls of paper to be loaded into the roll splicer.
- Maintain ink levels on all units of the press.
- Assist operator with skid changes.
- Assist operator with belt changes.
- Assist operator during color make-ready, wash up necessary units.
- Assist operator with form changes.
- Adhere to daily maintenance requirements (posted at the press).
- Prepare for advancement by learning all functions of press operation and responsibility.
- Maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Work in a safe and smart manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
