Job Summary
- The Bio-Medical Technician is responsible for assigned duties which promote safety and well-being of all patients, visitors, and staff by maintaining the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of water systems, medical equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems. In addition, this individual will document repairs, perform safety checks and preventive measures.
Job Requirements
- Education
- Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Experience
- Required: 3 years of experience in clinical or technical field
- Skills
- Has ability & knowledge base for use of common hand tools
- Demonstrate Ability to learn basic soldering and desoldering skills
- Demonstrate Ability to learn basic knowledge of environmental testing of Culture and Colony, Water Analysis, and LAL.
- Demonstrate Ability to learn basic knowledge of electronic theory and basic safety procedures
- Learn and appropriately utilize all required computer applications, including but not limited to E-mail, medical equipment management software and inventory tracking software.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate ideas clearly both orally and in writing to hospital staff, vendors, patients and patient’s families.
- Ability to utilize manufacturer’s service and operators manuals and other documentation
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Required: Must satisfactorily complete technical training within 2 years of employment to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair dialysis equipment
