The university seeks to fill one full-time tenure track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology, beginning August 2025. A successful candidate will teach Ecology, Evolution and Diversity for first-year and undergraduate courses such as Animal Behavior, Environmental Biology, and Evolution for upper-level students. The opportunity to teach an upper-level course in the candidate's area of expertise may exist. Additional responsibilities include professional activities such as research in the candidate's area of expertise or professional development in instructional delivery/design, as well as advising students, preparing and assessing curriculum, recruiting and retaining students, and serving on university committees. Opportunities for research with undergraduate students may exist. The position requires a doctorate in ecology, zoology, or a related biological science. Candidates who are ABD will be considered.
This faculty position will join the five full-time faculty in the biology program which is housed in the Science and Mathematics department. The department has twelve full-time faculty members as well as two lab managers who offer a supportive environment for academic and professional development.
