Biomedical Electronic Technician Full-time Evenings Variable - Washington Hospital Healthcare System

Hourly Rate: $69.86

Position Summary: Performs various daily assignments under the supervision of the Biomedical Engineering Supervisor. Completes preventive maintenance inspections and service on medical equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment as per established policy and procedures. 

Qualifications: 

Associate Degree or certification equivalent in electronics is preferred. 

CBET certification preferred within three years of hire. 

Three years experience in a hospital setting as a Biomedical or Diagnostic Imaging Technician preferred. Good troubleshooting skills of medical equipment is required. 

Knowledge of medical equipment used, service repair, troubleshooting and maintenance. Ability to communicate with staff and management. Computer skills, knowledge of Windows programs, computerized maintenance programs and use. Ability to communicate with equipment users, using proper medical terminology. 

Excellent people skills. Works with nursing, department managers, outside contractors, vendors and other biomedical engineers. Uses initiative to prioritize repairs, within guidelines of hospital, and department policies.
