Biostatistician I - Immunology/Infectious Diseases - The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine
Silver Spring, MD 20910-0000
About the Job
Join the HJF Team!
HJF is seeking a Biostatistician I to join the B cell Immunology Section, led by Dr. Shelly Krebs in support of the US Military HIV Research Program (MHRP; HIVResearch.org) and the Emerging Infectious Diseases Branch (EIDB; EIDResearch.org) of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. The lab uses high throughput, cutting edge technologies to investigate the immune response resulting from vaccination or infection from viral pathogens, resulting in large datasets. We are at the forefront of developing new technologies to enable new vaccine strategies and identify monoclonal antibodies for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, such as HIV, Zika, dengue, and coronaviruses.
The successful candidate will have experience processing, integrating, and analyzing high-dimensional biological datasets using current bioinformatics and programming tools. The research will include developing and applying computational/bioinformatical methods for analyzing and visualizing data from high-throughput antibody binding and neutralization assays, single cell next generation sequencing, and systems serology. Projects may be tailored to suit the candidate's research interests and expertise. Knowledge or experience with biostatistics is preferred. The candidate must be able to multi-task and prioritize project timelines when necessary. Strong communication and inter-personal skills are required. The candidate should be highly motivated and able to work both independently and in a team setting. The candidate will work within a multidisciplinary environment consisting of military, government, academic, and international collaborators. Telework options are available for this opening.
