Blackboard Learning Management System (Technical Training Specialist)
Essential Functions: The Blackboard Learning Management System Technical Training Specialist (TTS) will perform front-end, (Graphical User Interface (GUI)) Blackboard Learning Management System and Content System administration. The TTS will develop and maintain web-based training resources and will provide Instructional Design assistance to faculty and staff.

Essential Functions: The Blackboard Learning Management System Technical Training Specialist (TTS) will perform front-end, (Graphical User Interface (GUI)) Blackboard Learning Management System and Content System administration. The TTS will develop and maintain web-based training resources and will provide Instructional Design assistance to faculty and staff.
Duties include:
- Assist faculty and staff with one-on-one or group training.
- Plan, coordinate and conduct training for newer versions of Blackboard after upgrades
- Act as secondary point of contact (POC) for Blackboard support cases
- Diagnose and resolve Blackboard problems in response to client inquiries via WHD tickets.
- Research, evaluate, and provide feedback on problematic Blackboard client usage trends and patterns.
- Assist in the creation, modification, management, and termination of client Blackboard accounts.
- Educate clients as to the potential for and application of learning management system(s) and common commercial off-the-shelf application software packages (e.g., Google Apps, Microsoft Word/Excel./ PowerPoint, etc.) in meeting mission needs.
- Act as backup application administrator for other web-based applications as assigned such as Ungerboeck Event Management System.
- Reports and documentation include:
- Follow-up communications such as the closing out of trouble tickets, preparing incident reports, sending emails, and/or providing verbal or written status will be an intrinsic part of the work.
- Monthly and Written/Oral Reports (as required).
- Project Management Documentation (as required).
- Web-based Training Resources (as required). Blackboard documentation, training videos and other content posted on the Blackboard Assistance website.
- Application Administration Documentation (as required). In electronic form using MS Word or Google Docs for all application administration and related support work completed.
- System Documentation (as required). Complete systems documentation, user manuals, test plans, etc. for all information technology systems developed.
- Obtaining and maintaining a public trust clearance
- Obtaining and maintaining Security Certification.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree
At least one year of professional experience and familiarity with the majority of the following skills:
- Front-end, (Graphical User Interface (GUI)) Blackboard Learning Management System and Content System administration.
- Developing and maintaining web-based training resources.
- Providing Instructional Design assistance to faculty and staff.
- Assisting faculty and staff with one-on-one or group training.
- Planning, coordinating, and conducting training for newer versions of Blackboard after upgrades.
- Acting as secondary point of contact (POC) for Blackboard support cases
- Diagnosing and resolving Blackboard problems in response to client inquiries.
- Researching, evaluating, and providing feedback on problematic Blackboard client usage trends and patterns.
- Assisting in the creation, modification, management, and termination of client Blackboard accounts. Educating clients as to the potential for and application of learning management system(s) and common commercial off-the-shelf application software packages (e.g., Google Apps, Microsoft Word/Excel/ PowerPoint, etc.) in meeting mission needs.
- Tracking requests and providing performance summaries.
On site in Annapolis, MD with eligibility for a Hybrid remote schedule
Classification: Exempt Position
