Job Description/Overview: The Blend Tech Operator will perform routine process operations related to the manufacture of chemical and personal care products: weigh, mix, and formulate ingredients in an accurate, safe and timely manner. The position requires accurate and complete documentation of all activities and ensuring product quality by adhering to various regulatory requirements and internal SOPs. Ability to work individually as well as team settings.
Responsibilities:
- Operation of forklifts.
- Following batch records.
- Accurately measures ingredients.
- Accurately records production information and material usage on batch records.
- Maintains production logs as necessary.
- Conducts in-process quality checks.
- Monitors equipment performance and reports deficiencies.
- Follow GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Connect to, load and unload bulk tank trailers
- Ability to understand and accurately follow SOP's
- Experience working in food grade areas
- Change 6 months experience to 1 year experience
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
- Proper housekeeping of the work areas.
- Good hygiene practices.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
- 6 months batching or mixing experience in a chemical, personal care products or related process.
To be a successful candidate you must be able to push and pull full drums on a conveyor; Lift at least 50–75-pound bags, empty drums or filled pails; Climbing stairs or ladders repeatedly, walking, standing and operating a forklift or pallet jack; Move and connect 3" x 20' hoses; ability to work both indoors and outdoors in an environment that is not climate controlled (has both low and high temperatures) and experiences natural conditions (rain, snow, sun, etc.) . Persons that have any type of color blindness may be impaired for this type of duty.
Other Skills/Abilities:
- Ability and willingness to learn and develop new processes. testing techniques and procedures
- Experience in chemical blending and inventory management.
- Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft word and excel.
