Block Plant Mechanic - Bluffdale - Sunroc

FUNCTION: The block plant mechanic maintains equipment and machinery at the block plant.  

KEY ACTIVITIES: 

• Visualize and implement the Clyde Companies, Inc. vision and core values. 

• Perform plant inspections, diagnose problems, and perform preventative plant maintenance. 

• Maintain and service production machinery. 

• Replace and adjust machine wear parts. 

• Repair and install electrical systems as needed. 

• Removal and installation of molds used in production machines. 

• Light metal fabricating and other tasks as delegated. 

• Maintain tools as required to perform job.  

• Maintain safe work environment. 

• Other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:  

• Exceptional problem solving, and technical skills 

• Experience with Columbia machinery 

• Mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic experience  

• Must be safety conscious and have a good safety record. 

• Must be proficient in the use of arc and wire feed welders. 

• Must be experienced with metal fabrication. 

• Must be proficient in the use of pneumatic and hand tools. 

• Must be experienced with industrial electrical systems. 

• Must be dependable, self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. 

• Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical repairs would be helpful. 

• Forklift experience helpful. 

• Good communication skills. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED). 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  

• Ability to lift 50-75 lbs
