Position Summary:
Assures safe, efficient and quality operation and workflow through supervision, guidance and support of the staff. Responsible for the operating procedures, quality control, maintenance and proficiency testing programs for area of responsibility under the direction of the sections manager, director of laboratory and/or medical director. Responsible for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties in a manner consistent with St. Luke’s mission and values.
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
Education:Associates Degree required, BS or BA degree preferred. MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or MLT(ASCP) required. Must meet latest version of CLIA requirements for General Supervisor at time of application and employment.
Experience:Preferred four years full-time technical experience in clinical laboratory. Two years minimum experience must be in Blood Bank.
Licensure: Certification by national accrediting agency in appropriate disciplinerequired.
Certification requiring educational maintenance must be kept current and valid.
