Job Description
Salary: $60-$70k, plus commissions = typical total compensation is $100k+
Specific Responsibilities
- Possess extensive knowledge of industrial/commercial steam and hot water boilers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Proficient with flame safeguards and the use of VOMs and other troubleshooting tools.
- Quote associated controls, replacements, and modifications to customers' boiler room equipment.
- Develop relationships with vendors and maintain awareness of market trends.
- Follow up on incomplete projects and additional parts or service work listed on service tickets and job estimates.
- Issue purchase orders to service technicians on quoted projects.
- Provide quality service for all assigned tasks while upholding core company values.
- Maintain departmental goals for profitability and efficiency.
- Quote burner, control, and boiler upgrades, and negotiate service and equipment contracts.
- Develop relationships with customers and attend service meetings and ongoing training.
- Oversee the completion of service projects from the review of plans or requests for quotes to project closeout, ensuring all is done within budget and deadlines.
- Sell service contracts and water treatment agreements, and review open work order files weekly.
Skills Required
- In-depth operational knowledge of boiler systems.
- Excellent organizational skills and comprehensive understanding of the boiler trade.
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience with boilers and burners.
- Experience in boiler upgrades, including electrical, combustion, and refractory installation.
- Proficiency in burner controls, including familiarity with Fireye, Siemens, and Autoflame systems.
- Effective communication with customers, employees, and vendors.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize work responsibilities, work independently, and instruct others.
- Strong project management and sales skills.
- Diverse troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of administrative processes.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- High degree of oral and written communication skills.

- Visit customer sites and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair systems and products at customer locations.
- Flexibility to work after hours and weekends as necessary.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Stay current on the installation, operation, service, and repair of represented products.
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience with boilers and burners.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required prior to employment.
Communication & Organizational Skills
- Document work by completing daily paperwork.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Determine parts needed for repairs and timeliness of need.
- Communicate parts and new equipment sales leads to respective departments.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees.
Physical Requirements
- Full mobility, including the ability to use hands to finger, handle, and feel.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
