- Boiler Installation & Repair: Install, diagnose, service, and repair various boiler systems, including gas, oil-fired, and steam boilers.
- Troubleshooting: Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex boiler failure conditions, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- System Upgrades: Identify necessary system upgrades and make recommendations to clients.
- Code Compliance: Maintain a valid plumbing license and ensure all work complies with engineering specifications, local building codes, and safety regulations.
- Collaboration: Work on both commercial and residential job sites, demonstrating motivation and flexibility, and collaborate effectively with other trades such as plumbing and HVAC teams.
- Project Coordination: Attend weekly job meetings and coordinate with the General Contractor's on-site Supervisor during project duration.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate work logs, including job sites, time, equipment, materials, and recommendations for follow-up.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, clearly explaining system issues and repair needs.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe work environment and follow all safety protocols, working independently and applying skills to deliver superior quality service.
Qualifications
- Licensing: Possess a Journeyman or Master Plumbing License in MI.
- Experience: Minimum of 3+ years as a boiler technician, with experience in commercial and industrial gas/oil heat service.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of boiler construction, boiler systems, and safety regulations. Familiarity with high- and low-pressure steam systems, DA and Feedwater tanks, and pumping systems.
- Control Systems: Understanding of control systems and wiring, including parallel positioning.
- Physical Ability: Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions year-round.
- Equipment Proficiency: Skilled at using power and hand tools, and knowledgeable about boiler system components.
- Computer Skills: Experience with Service Titan software is a plus. Basic proficiency with technology and documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Driver's License: Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background check.
