Position: Bookkeeper - Accounts Payable Clerk

Duties:
- Provide assistance with daily tasks including deposit recording, physical mail sorting, receiving & organizing accounts payable email, scanning documentation, distribution of invoices to appropriate managers
- Assists in weekly preparation of accounts payable payments, ensures timeliness of payments to vendors, and works closely with suppliers to reconcile accounts
- Responsible for assisting with maintaining the general ledger system for the hospital under the direction of the Accounting Supervisor and participates in month end close procedures, as requested
- Accounts payable duties include distribution of vendor invoices electronically to appropriate personnel through software work flow, processing those approved vendor invoices into a weekly check run, via paper or electronic check processes
- Mails checks with remittance advices to payees
- The duties also include working with vendors to ensure account reconciliation, timeliness of payments, and reconciliation to the general ledger
- Assists in annual 1099 preparation and mailing, qualifying new vendors, and fields question from staff regarding payment status of invoices
Qualifications:
- Interpersonal skills are required
- Data entry skills are required
- Adherence to confidentiality standards are required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree preferred
