About the Job
We are seeking a Contract-to-Perm Bookkeeper with a strong focus on Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Journal Entries, and Bank Reconciliations for a multi-location restaurant business. The ideal candidate will manage financial transactions across our 5 locations and will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records, improving efficiency, and supporting the overall financial health of the company.
Location: Hicksville, NY
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate records.
- Assist in credit card and expense reconciliations
- Accurately post journal entries and ensure correct categorization.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple locations.
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain financial records for 5 restaurant locations.
- Ensure consistency and compliance with company accounting policies across locations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper with a focus on AP/AR, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Restaurant industry experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience managing books for multiple locations or business units is a plus.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel is required.
- Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Highly dependable with a strong sense of punctuality.
- Efficient and detail-oriented, capable of meeting deadlines
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various departments.
