Who You Are

Curect Neuropsychology of New York is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper/Medical Billing Coordinator to join our team.  In this role, the successful candidate will coordinate billing, including coding, claim submission, charge reconciliation and follow-up on claims. The successful candidate will also perform bookkeeping functions according to established procedures.

What You'll Do

Bookkeeping

• Processes and verifies account receivables
• Manages and routes invoices to proper departments for approval for payment.
• Issues checks as needed and upon special request or in accordance with schedule.
• Verifies month end totals of Accounts Distribution, Cash Disbursements and Open Items reports and coordinates closing to the general ledger.
• Reconciles monthly billing; produces discrepancy report when necessary.

Billing

• Coordinates coding, claim submission, charge reconciliation and follow-up on claims
• Provides feedback to improve documentation to maximize revenue and reduce denials
• Reviews and trains practices on local and national coding and reimbursement policies including payer coding guidelines
• Works with patients to clarify financial responsibilities as needed
• Follows-up with clinicians and/or practice management for unbilled services
• Acts as a resource to front-end practice staff to identify gaps in clearance processes
• Serves as resource to clinicians, staff, and management regarding local and national coding and reimbursement policies
• Adheres to general practice and guidelines on compliance issues and patient confidentiality
• Works collaboratively with colleagues and site management to ensure a positive experience and timely resolution for all patient interactions and inquiries whether in person, by phone or via electronic messaging
• Detail oriented with high level of accuracy Adheres to all policies and procedures, including those prescribed in the Employee Handbook.

What You Bring

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field• 1 to 3 years of specialized experience in Accounts payable and medical billing.• Previous work in mental/behavioral health a plus.• Proficient in computer software programs (QB online, Word, Excel, Power Point).• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

What We Offer

Position Salary:

$28-$30/hour
