Summary
As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for analyzing the daily AP and AR operations, daily and monthly cash reconciliations, perform month end accounting close, maintaining accounting system and ledger, and analyzing inventory valuations.
Responsibilities
- Daily cash reconciliation
- Assist with month end closing activities to ensure accuracy and completeness including, but not limited to, journal entry preparation with supporting documentation and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Preparation of various sales tax filings.
- Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll (Pay Runs), as needed.
- Prepare general ledger, credit card and bank account reconciliations, and schedules to assist in the annual financial statement audit.
- Provide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
- Assist with special reporting and analysis projects.
- Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.
- Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.
- Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling, and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
- Ensures credit is received for outstanding memos.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
- Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent on the job training
- QuickBooks Desktop

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented and deadline driven, with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to comfortably manage multiple projects
- Strong, current expertise with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Tools
- Ability to effectively work independently and with a team
- Coachable, self-starter, and team player
- Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English
