Mocama Marine LLC (“Mocama” or “Company”) is a manufacturer of two premier boat brands including: Action Craft (a revered brand of flats boats and bay boats) and Southwind (a premium brand of high-quality deck boats).
JOB SUMMARY
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining records of all daily financial transactions, AP/AR duties and assisting Accounting Manager and other department heads with various administrative functions.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Documenting transaction details
- AR/AP
- Generating weekly financial statements
- Balance sheet management
- Balance bank and credit statements
- Fact-checking accounting data
- All other duties as may be required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & CHARACTERISTICS
- Education, Experience & Knowledge:
- 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- High School Diploma or GED required, AA or BA a plus.
- Good communication skills.
- Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Information Systems:
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), inventory control systems, and accounting software (QuickBooks at a minimum).
- Language & Communication:
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, procedures and performance documents, as examples, in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with technology assistance.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Ability to utilize data to make business decisions.
- Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- Possible exposure to safety hazards common to boat manufacturing processes. Plant environment varies with outside temperature and noise levels vary in different production areas.
