Job Title: Part-Time Bookkeeper

Location: Ashland, MA

Job Type: Part-Time (20-30 hours per week)

Job Description:

A dynamic engineering firm, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Bookkeeper to manage essential accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounts payables, accounts receivables, bank reconciliations, and assisting with the month-end close process. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health and accuracy of the company's records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payables:
• Process vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
• Schedule and prepare payments for approval.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Accounts Receivables:
• Prepare and send customer invoices in a timely manner.
• Track and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure prompt payment.
• Record incoming payments and apply them to the correct accounts.
• Bank Reconciliations:
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies between bank statements and company records.
• Month-End Close:
• Assist in preparing for the month-end close process.
• Record journal entries and adjustments as necessary.
• Assist with generating financial reports to support management decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in bookkeeping, particularly in accounts payables, accounts receivables, and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes.
• Proficient in accounting software.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with vendors, clients, and internal staff.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Requirements:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, ideally in an engineering or professional services environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting software.

Hours and Compensation:

• Part-time position with flexible hours (approximately 20-30 hours per week).
• Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
