We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill a unique dual role as a Bookkeeper and Realtor. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of the real estate and property management operations. Additionally, you will assist with real estate transactions, property showings, and client communication utilizing your knowledge of the local market and industry regulations. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for certain accounts payables functions including but not limited to comparing purchase orders with invoices, hand checks, invoice distribution, keying & balancing payables, printing & sorting checks, and filing payables paid.
- Assist with month-end financials, journal entry preparation, and other general ledger accounting functions.
- Assist with preparation of all financial and statistical reports as directed by the Broker.
- File, type, send facsimiles, answer the telephone, send and receive mail, and other functions as requested.
- Maintain the bank register and proper recording of cash receipts.
- Prepare month-end balances for posting to the general ledger.
- Follow up on leads and schedule showings and inspections of homes.
- Compose Lease documents for rentals and conduct move in/move out walkthroughs
- Coordinate vendors to effectively and efficiently turn vacant properties.
- Proactively inspect properties and ensure the best quality product is being shown to prospective tenants or buyers.
- Transport Broker to showings or other scheduled events as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Broker.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Associates degree in accounting or closely related field or 3 years of relevant experience.
- 3 years of experience using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), computer bookkeeping systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must have experience utilizing AppFolio.
- Must have an active and good standing California real estate license.
- Must be able to work independently and obtain quality results
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under deadlines pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Position offers a competitive salary between $50k – $70k DOE annually with the opportunity of incentives and benefits.
