About the Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper/Accounting Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts payable, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Process payroll for employees, including calculating hours, deductions, and bonuses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes.
- Generate financial reports as needed, including profit and loss statements.
- Handle billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies with clients or vendors.
- Support budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and adhere to compliance regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounting Assistant (2+ years preferred).
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- High school diploma required; Associates degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with payroll processing and related regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with accounts receivable and general ledger.
- Knowledge of tax preparation and compliance.
- Certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) is a plus.
