POSITION: BOX OFFICE ASSISTANT (part-time)
REPORTS TO: BOX OFFICE MANAGER
DEPARTMENT: PITTSBURGH PLAYHOUSE
PRIMARY FUNCTION: To assist the Box Office Manager with answering phone calls, processing orders and selling tickets, as well as with ticketing set up, event builds and reporting. This role will work during office hours for day-to-day sales and inquiries, as well as during events to assist with ticket sales and customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to communicate clearly by phone, email, and in person.
- Comfortable in handling cash
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Previous box office experience preferred, but not required.
- Tessitura ticketing system knowledge preferred, but not required.
DUTIES:
- Provide excellent patron support and service.
- Manage ticketing inventory with sales and exchanges.
- Answer phone calls, emails and in person inquiries
- Assist with ticket system operations - event builds, on sale monitoring, season set up, etc. on an as needed basis.
- Assist Box Office Manager with reporting and finance settlements as needed.
- Be able to resolve patron issues while remaining professional and courteous.
- Assist in outbound sales and group sales efforts as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
