QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Education or Behavioral Sciences required. Course work in the areas of psychology, social work, special education, counseling, psychosocial rehabilitation, preferred. Previous experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, have developmental or behavioral disabilities required. Ability to work positively with students, caregivers and across multiple community partners. Demonstrates an aptitude for the work to be performed. Must be able to pass a criminal history background check. At least one (1) successful experience working in a school or after-school environment with students including those with disabilities. Certified as a CBRS/PSR, Behavior Intervention Specialist, Habilitative Interventionist (or expecting certification within 90 days of hire) with 2 years of experience, preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a positive peer relationship and performs as a team player.

- Assists youth with behavioral or emotional challenges in the school, clinic and community settings.
- Works directly with youth in either the Coeur d’Alene Tribal School or Plummer/Worley School District during the school day and Boys & Girls Club in the afternoons
- Responsible for facilitating continuity of care across multiple locations (School, Boys & Girls Club, home).Takes a team approach to interventions and functions as a collaborative member of interdisciplinary team providing assistance to youth and their families.
- Provides services in line with Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) and 504 Plan and Behavioral Health Plan(s).
- Supports youth to participate in, and access, therapies and learning opportunities by working with, caregivers, schools, community partners and Marimn staff to address barriers to access.
- Provides individualized, evidence based, brief interventions that produce measurable outcomes and diminish behaviors that interfere with wellness and healthy development.
- Delivers group and one on one interventions to promote prosocial behaviors at school and/or Boys and Girls Club.
- Provides support related to activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, food preparation, chores, homework and self-management.
- Assists students in organizing materials and class assignments.
- Attends (and when necessary, works with Behavioral Health Case Manager to schedule) WRAP around care meetings to coordinate care and/or advocate for youth needs in school, Boys & Girls Club and home settings.
- Provides prompts to assist youth in managing their own behavior and in practicing prosocial behavior.
- Works closely with the Boys & Girls Club and Behavioral Health Staff to review the effectiveness of interventions and recommends revisions to approaches as needed. Keeps staff up to date on revisions.
- Maintains knowledge of trauma informed care and teaches/coaches staff in trauma-informed approaches to youth programming and staff responses to behavior.
- Provides input to Boys & Girls Club/Behavioral Health collaboration team regarding potential, programming, policy, or procedure changes to improve support to youth and their families. Advocates for holistic, family centered approach to services.
- Utilizes Marimn Health documentation standards and protocols appropriately and timely to ensure collaboration and communication of progress and plan(s) with other Marimn Health care providers and community partners.
- Functions collaboratively with various community partners such as, Behavioral Health, schools, medical providers, legal systems, recreational systems and/or other behavioral health providers.
- Works as a member of a multi-disciplinary team that includes Marimn Health and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.
- Regularly reports on progress to supervisors and parents/guardians
- Listens to and resolves youth identified issues and/or refers to the appropriate person/department.
- Functions as a role model to youth.
- Tracks billing for all Medicaid eligible students.
- Willing to participate in clinical supervision, attend care plan/staff meetings with Behavioral Health team.
