Press Brake Operator
SUMMARY:
$24-27/hr
depending on experience
1st shift hours – 6:30am-3pm with Overtime available.
Looking for 5+ years of Job Shop, custom work experience.
Needs to be skilled in Bump-forming, transitions and elbows.
The Brake Press Operators produce parts from metal using a brake press piece of equipment that creates precision shapes, bends, and customizes metal into a variety of forms for the manufacturing process
Brake Press Operators must be able to read and understand detailed blueprints to form finished products
The Brake Press Operator must make sure the machines are set up properly, make adjustments to the machines to control speed, material feed, the path of the shape or bend and produce a quality product
The Brake Press Operator performs periodic quality inspection checks on the product output and visually inspects the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in the production process
The Brake Press Operator is also responsible for making sure the machines are working well, working at full capacity, well maintained, and are stocked with needed materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Produce parts according to print specifications and scheduling requirements.
- Must be cognizant of how different materials react to pressure, heat, and shaping procedures.
- Inspect the materials produced for quality and conformance prior to the release to the end-users, correct any inconsistencies, or reject for non-conformance
Operates a Manual Brake Press under minimal supervision for 8 to 10 hours per day. - Sets up the machine by maneuvering stops on the machine, changing tooling adjusts components,
- Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches.
- Use a CNC controller to input information into the machine.
- Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints.
- Checks height, depth, and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments.
- Perform complex programming using all features of the press brake.
- Work with tight tolerances.
- Produce parts for assembly operations.
- Meet customer specifications and delivery requirements.
- Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications.
- Perform spot inspections of parts.
- Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures.
- Complete and maintain paperwork.
- Identify assembly parts.
- Set up light gauge metal.
- Configure bend allowances for sheet metal.
- Check machine for defects and repair if necessary.
- Ensure the machine is calibrated and cleaned.
- Read drawings and blueprints.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Press brake machine: 5 years in a Job Shop environment (Required)
