Position Summary
The primary role of this position is the daily execution of all brewing/cellaring and transferring operations, cleaning all brewing and brewing related equipment/spaces and contributing as a member of the brewing team. In order to help ensure all aspects of this position are performed as expected, measurable metrics will be provided along with regularly scheduled performance reviews.

General Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment:
- Advocate a safe working environment by adhering to all PPE requirements and policies, and reporting incidents and near misses to assigned supervisor
- Understand all Clean in Place procedures
- Daily routine, and regular deep cleaning and sanitization of required tanks, pumps and filtration systems and equipment, floors, drains and other systems
- Annual chemical training, proper cleaning chemical usage and proper chemical titrations
- Conformation of brewing equipment cleanliness thru swabbing, titration or other standard tests
- Follow all SOPs and work instructions
- Brew new batches according to SOPs and the daily plan
- Record all data, amounts of ingredients, and lot numbers in the appropriate spreadsheets, documents and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Transfer base product through appropriate filtration to appropriate tank
- Abide by GMP/SQF and HACCP standards
- Organization and cleaning of all tools and equipment
- Conformation of brewing equipment cleanliness thru swabbing, titration or other standard tests
- Cool tanks using the proper methods as directed when necessary
- Inject flavors to brite tanks
- Turn on carbonation to packaging tank when flavoring is complete to appropriate levels
- Assist in training brewing team members
- Production and transfer of liquid sugar
- Conduct preventive maintenance as needed
- Verify that equipment is functional as needed, ie prv's, gauges.
- Escalate to the maintenance contact on items in need of repair
- Assist in troubleshooting with other departments as needed (ie a new system that involves both departments)
- Ensure carbonation systems are set to packaging tanks when flavoring is completed
- Assist in Koelschip fermentation monitoring, transfers and cleaning processes
- Participation in brewery projects and teams as needed
Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities
- Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same.
- Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation.
- Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment.
- If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred but not required
- Keen attention to detail and ability to efficiently follow process flow
- High standard of cleanliness, with ability to multitask and be flexible
- Proficiency with spreadsheet data entry
- Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization
- Positive and team oriented attitude
- Ability to work variable schedules based on the department needs
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of brewing experience required
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
- 30 minute unpaid lunch break; two paid 15 minute breaks
- Ability to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods
- Ability to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces regularly
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet environments
- Ability to regularly lift, push, or pull up to 65 pounds
