Job DescriptionOlsson is looking for a motivated mid-to-senior level structural engineer to join our bridge and roadway team in either Fayetteville or Little Rock, AR. Our bridge group works on a wide range of projects including bridge and retaining walls, dams, storm and traffic structures, inspections, rehabilitations, load ratings, and assisting with construction engineering services. We facilitate designs on transportation projects that include grade separations, interchanges, and stream crossings for public and private clients throughout the Midwest. You will be able to collaborate with roadway, traffic, geotechnical, and stormwater engineers on projects that make a positive impact in our community while simultaneously offering you the ability to grow and pick up a wide array of skills.
You'll have opportunities to get involved with project management, marketing, proposals, client development, and mentoring technical staff. You'll manage projects from concept though construction making decisions on engineering problems and select the appropriate structural solutions that are cost-effective and constructible while working with a multi-disciplined team of engineers and technicians. Occasional travel for site visits or inspection work may occur.
We have one current opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Fayetteville or Little Rock, AR office locations.

You bring to the team:
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to contribute and work well on a team
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with a structural emphasis or a closely related field
- A master’s degree, or currently pursuing one, is a plus
- Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design
- Familiarity with bridge analysis and design programs (LARSA, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, Lpile, SPColumn, MDX)
- Skilled in designing prestressed concrete and steel bridges
- Must be a registered Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to become licensed in 6 months
- Ability to become licensed in other US States through the NCEES
- Knowledge of ArDOT/KDOT/MoDOT Bridge Projects, preferred
- Proficient in MicroStation
