SUMMARY
The BriteWorX Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the BriteWorX Manager in maintaining efficient operation of the BriteWorX Car Washery and staff. The position is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and assisting the BriteWorX Manager in creating a superior image at the facility, in addition to ensuring customers receive a quality wash from a well-maintained operation. The BriteWorX Assistant Manager will promote cash wash sales and engage customers in carwash promotions, while providing customers with an exceptional buying experience. The position has responsibility for addressing customer concerns and security of company assets during the Manager’s absence. This position will operate the wash alongside BriteWorX Associates and will spend much of their work time outside.

RESPONSIBILITIES BY COMPENTENCY: (*denotes an essential function of the position)
Business Results Orientation
*Ensure proper operation of the car wash to contribute to maintaining efficiency and achieving sales, expense, and profit goals
*Assist Manager in monitoring equipment and facility to ensure cleanliness, safety, image, and wash quality expectations
*Complete deposit and paperwork in a timely manner
*Maintain and track all necessary inventories
Assist BriteWorX Manager in examining the market for changes that may affect the business
Execute pre-approved business strategies required to meet budgetary and business goals
*Monitor compliance with safety policies, procedures, and practices to avoid preventable accidents
*Ensure maintenance of wash equipment and facility to company standards
*Correct any safety issues immediately
*Work an irregular schedule, including evenings and weekends
*Assist in covering shifts including short notices
*Maintain regular attendance and follow designated safety practices
Perform other duties not listed as required
Communication
*Communicate effectively and professionally with customers, employees, internal support staff, external vendors, and members of management
*Advise management of any cash/inventory loss
*Manage customer complaints, damage claims, etc… and report to management/appropriate support personnel
Assist in communicating marketing and promotion programs and goals to employees
*Ensure customers are aware of current wash promotions and offerings
*Report any customer injuries, any customer property or facility damage, or safety issues to supervisor and appropriate support personnel immediately
Respond timely to requests from management, customers, support staff, etc…
Communicate goals, business results, safety issues, and other important company information regularly; celebrate success
Contact Manager and support staff as needed to manage employee and customer issues
Customer Service Orientation
*Promote customer awareness and a customer-focused mindset among all employees; lead by example
Suggest wash products and services to customers that may fit their needs
*Ensure all staff comply with company appearance and uniform standards at all times
Suggest company or facility improvements that will enhance customer service
Follow through with customer recovery as needed when service doesn’t meet expectations in the absence of Manager
*Respond timely to customer inquiries, suggestions, complaints, and damage reports
Developing Talent
*Attend training to further develop both technical and soft skills
*Assist in maintaining a competent and professional work force trained on all car wash operations and customer service
Provide encouragement and development for employees as needed for further growth
*Assist in evaluating and coaching employee as required
Strive continually to improve own performance and performance of the facility as a whole
*Assist in providing employees with required safety and operational training
Challenge oneself to further develop skills that relate to the position
Promote team development, enthusiasm, and pride
*Follow and enforce all policies and procedures defined by Company policy, training materials, job description, etc…
*Complete training as required to meet regulatory compliance and company guidelines
Technical Expertise
*Maintain knowledge of car wash operations, equipment and chemicals
*Monitor completion of duties each shift as required to maintain the facility and wash
*Perform regular maintenance checks during shift to ensure proper performance of all equipment
*Troubleshoot, diagnose, make needed repairs of equipment/facility during shift, utilizing maintenance staff when needed; inform Manager of issues
*Secure company assets by adhering to and ensuring compliance with appropriate cash/asset handling processes
*Assist Manager in investigating all sales, cash or operating discrepancies
*Understand and utilize all electronic and computer systems used in daily operations
Safety
*Make recommendations regarding correction of unsafe conditions
*Adhere to all Wallis Companies safety policies and report all safety incidents to supervisor immediately

This position has no direct reports; however, this position will be responsible for the unit in the Manager’s absence.

Education: *Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: *Required: At least 6 months of experience in retail, car wash or related field
Language Skills: *Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English in a manner that is
sufficient for effective communication with groups of managers, clients,
customers and the general public.
