Position Summary
A key leadership role within the corporate BSA/AML program managing high-risk enterprise-wide OFAC / sanctions as the AVP Holding Company BSA/OFAC Officer and Manager for the WTFC OFAC unit. This role provides enterprise-wide leadership expertise, oversight, guidance, strategies and direction related to sanctions as issued by the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) along with assisting with BSA/AML Regulations and the USA PATRIOT Act. This position is responsible for the growth and development of the OFAC team members and supporting professional development efforts across BSA/AML, Compliance and key areas of WTFC.
What You'll Do
Formulate and execute a multi-year strategy and vision for a best-in-class OFAC program, linking policy, technology, data, and enterprise-wide partnerships to succeed.
Development and oversight of the high risk and continuously evolving OFAC and sanctions functions, including maintenance of the OFAC policies and procedures, performing section 314(a) information sharing, OFAC list updates, preparing reports on blocked/rejected transactions, and escalation of serious OFAC compliance issues.
Management of the OFAC sanctions team including: coverage, maintaining SLA’s, training, and individual development.
Be the subject matter expert in providing OFAC regulatory guidance to deliver advice based on a wide breadth of OFAC competencies.
Identify potential areas of sanctions compliance vulnerability and risk, propose solutions to resolve issues, and provide guidance for future avoidance of similar issues.
BSA Project Management Leadership with cross-functional teams and drive solution-oriented objectives.
BSA oversight for risk assessments and monitoring for new products and services. Review and provide enhancements to risk assessments, policy and procedures and provide risk assessment guidance on emerging trends, products and services.
Qualifications
7-10 years of banking experience, 3-5 years of BSA experience, and 3-5 years Managerial experience.
Applicable banking project management experience.
CAMS certified or willing to become CAMS certification after date of hire.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Sound management skills, strong written and oral communication skills, problem solving and time management skills, knowledge of OFAC screening systems and industry best practices.
