In this role, you will be responsible for retro-commissioning, connecting existing building automation systems (BAS) to cloud-based systems, and deploying automated fault detection and analytics software. - BAS System Integration: Connect existing building automation systems (BAS) to the internet/cloud for remote monitoring, fault detection, and analytics.
- Commissioning & Start-Up: Perform retro-commissioning and optimization of HVAC/BAS systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet energy-saving goals.
- System Programming: Program BAS controllers and configure automated systems for performance optimization using software tools such as Niagara, Delta Controls, and more.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in building automation systems.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including engineers and project managers, to execute smart-building solutions.
- Client Communication: Provide technical support to clients and end-users, explaining system functionality and addressing any issues.
- Project Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including reports on commissioning activities, programming changes, and system performance.
- Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Software, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering and/or at least 3+ years of experience working with building automation systems (BAS), including Niagara, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Delta Controls, is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in BAS systems knowledge, HVAC systems, mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and software programming related to BAS.
- Programming Knowledge: Familiarity with Delta programmable controllers and GCL is a plus. Understanding of guideline 36 for system optimization.
- Field Testing/Commissioning: Experience in field testing, point-to-point testing, and performance functional testing of HVAC/BAS systems.
- Electrical Knowledge: Understanding of AC/DC theory, Ohm's law, and the ability to troubleshoot analog and digital inputs/outputs using multimeters.
- Software & Networking: Familiarity with BACnet communications protocols, including RS485, CAT5/6, and network troubleshooting.
- Certifications: Certifications in relevant BAS systems are preferred but not required.
- Problem Solving: Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to explain technical solutions to clients.
- Experience with smart-connected buildings, cloud-based automation, and fault detection software.
- Familiarity with retro-commissioning and optimization of building systems.
- Knowledge of low-voltage circuits, relay logic, and access control systems is a plus.
