The City of Tomball is accepting applications for a Building Inspector. This position ensures that all residential, commercial, and multi-family constructions adhere to city ordinances and building codes. This includes performing regular inspections. In addition to enforcing codes, the Building Inspector actively communicates with contractors, citizens, and business owners, offering guidance and addressing any queries related to building codes and regulations.

Education: Trade School Certificate
Experience: Minimum of 2 years previous relevant work experience is required.
Certifications: ICC B1 certification is required within 12 months of hire date.
Licensing: Licensed Plumbing Inspector perferred, Class C Driver's License
Building Inspector functionsinclude but are not limited to the following.
- Inspections and Enforcement: Enforces city ordinances, focusing particularly on building codes. Performs inspections on new constructions to ensure compliance with ICC and IRC regulations. Reviews residential and commercial building plans for adherence to city-adopted codes and ordinances.
- Responds to community complaints, investigate, and take appropriate action.
- Community Interaction: Assist contractors, citizens, and developers with pre-construction planning and other building-related questions. Address incoming calls, emails, and voicemails, even those outside the immediate job scope.
- Contribute to the team effort by performing other related duties as assigned.

SALARY:
- Hiring Range: $50,814- $53,352 ($24.43 - $25.65)
- Salary Range: $50,814 - $76,232
