Tree of Life Personal Care Home, LLC is looking to add a Building Maintenance Attendant to their team.
Position Summary
To perform facility preventive maintenance and repairs as necessary, complete facility work orders, plan and complete minor construction, assist and recommend purchases of supplies and equipment, remove snow, and other ground functions. Complete documentation as necessary. Assist outside contractors as required.

While performing the essential functions, the associate is talking, and hearing and use of manual dexterity most of the time while frequently standing, sitting, walking, using repetitive motion lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and occasionally kneeling, handling, grasping, and feeling, climbing, balancing, stooping, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
The associate may be exposed to extreme cold, heat and frequent temperature changes and possible atmospheric conditions and hazards and moderate noise. The associate must have the ability to exert force with little physical effort and for light work and frequently medium work and occasionally heavy work.

Essential Functions
- Inspect the site regularly to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Conduct monthly fire drills and fire safety checks.
- Perform scheduled inspections or maintenance on all equipment, buildings, and systems and document accordingly.
- Keep maintenance areas in good order. Assist in maintaining supply levels. Purchase minor supplies and equipment with approval from the Administrator.
- Ensure all exits from the home are free of ice, snow, and debris to the designated fire emergency meeting location.
- Maintain, repair, and replace light bulbs and light fixtures as necessary.
- Perform minor plumbing repairs and replace and install plumbing fixtures, lavatories, and toilets as able.
- Analyze and correct electrical problems and repair, replace and overhaul electrical equipment and controls as able in accordance with applicable building codes and facility and regulatory safety procedures.
- Utilize and operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete assignments/maintenance. Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, safe, and usable manner.
- Store chemicals, fuels, compressed gasses paint, etc. in a safe manner.
- Report maintenance issues to the Administrator.
- Utilize appropriate safety equipment and personal protective equipment as necessary or required.
- Know and follow all general, safety, security, and health policies and procedures.
- Be available to take call as assigned and respond to the facility within 20 minutes.
- Responsible for working in a safe manner in resident care areas to not cause a disruption of resident care services or expose residents to unsafe conditions.
- Ensure the exterior of the property is maintained and well kept (i.e., grass mowed, hedges trimmed, flower beds weeded, painted as needed) submitting maintenance requests as needed.
- Will be trained as a Fire and Safety Expert who will conduct regular inspections, develop and implement safety plans, and provide training to staff on fire safety procedures.
- Assist with the move in and move out of residents.
- Work with outside vendors to establish schedule maintenance while minimizing disruptions to resident care.
- Be available and willing to work beyond normal work hours as needed.

Educational and Other Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent or vocational certificate of training and completion of apprentice training program applicable to this position.
- Experience in minor repairs to buildings, facilities, service equipment, and other related equipment.
- Specific experience in plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical, and pneumatic systems of a hospital or personal care home is preferred.
- 2 years of work experience that required interaction with patients, rehabilitation clients and/or long-term care residents preferred.
- Current CPR and First Aide required.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Direct Care Training.

- OAPSA required FBI Fingerprints, National Sex Offender Registry, PA State Criminal History, PA Child Abuse and Physical assessment are required prior to hire and required every five years. Physical assessments will be required every two years.
- Position required the carrying of a handgun and must have a carry permit for the weapon. The sidearm must be registered in the Assocaite's home state.
