Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Operations Manager, the Building Mechanics Specialist will perform a variety of skilled and unskilled activities involved in the operation and maintenance of the facility’s mechanical and electrical systems and general operations. 

 

This role will pay an hourly wage of $17 to $30.00.

About the Venue:

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center features a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, over 54,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space and an arena view restaurant, the Spotlight Grille. The arena is home to Florida State Men’s and Women’s basketball and is known for its electric atmosphere and fierce home court advantage. Responsibilities:

• Being a team player.
• Performing preventative maintenance and scheduled predictive maintenance checks following manufacturers’ recommendation.
• Accurately maintain records of labor time, parts used, and work accomplished.
• Effectively communicate with all Operations team members to accomplish projects and tasks. 
• Plan work to ensure cost effective use of labor and materials.
• Ensure tools and equipment are in good repair and properly stored. 
• Follow/uphold all safety standards.
• Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

• Ability to follow instruction and direction.
• Experience in building repair, carpentry work, and painting.
• Must have experience with power and hand tools.
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
• Required to work independently and under minimal supervision.
• Ability to have a flexible schedule based on events, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Displaying a professional and highly motivated demeanor.
• Ability to perform duties in a sometimes fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
