Building Services Director
A skilled nursing facility is seeking a Building Services Director to join their team.
Overseeing the safety and maintenance of facility and ensuring that this property is in compliance with all applicable regulations. Recommending and coordinating improvements to the property as needed to ensure a safe, functional, and appealing space.
Building Services Director Responsibilities
•Responsible for managing and supervising an interdisciplinary team of maintenance, housekeeping, and laundry/linen personnel. Which includes scheduling, staffing assignments, , performance reviews, hiring of staff, progressive discipline, and termination of staff consistent with facility policies.
•Responsible for ensuring preventative maintenance efforts programs to ensure a more efficient and operational setting. Which include the physical aspects of the building’s HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, major appliances and amenities, including the management of appropriate outside vendors and contractors.
•Oversees all short term and long term capital improvements i.e. renovations.
•Ensures life safety regulatory compliance, performs audits, and documents required life safety regulatory items in an organized and timely manner.
•Inspects and monitors facility to ensure housekeeping, and laundry/linen employees are meeting facility standards and resident expectations.
•Receive and negotiate bids/proposals from external.
•Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws.
Building Services Director Qualifications:
•Two year college degree, military experience, or equivalent work experience required
•Preferably 3 years of building services/facilities experience performing the duties of Maintenance Lead or Maintenance Director.
•Preferably 1 year of supervisory experience in housekeeping or service-related field with high customer/client contact required
•Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment and discretion to make decisions designed to achieve company expectations and goals for the community.
•Basic computer skills, ability to using Microsoft Office and ability to operate standard office equipment.
•Ability to frequently transport up to 60 pounds variable distances, the mobility and flexibility to use required equipment and to access and work in confined spaces or at heights in excess of 8-9 feet.
•Familiar with all types of surfaces and respective cleaners.
•Understands Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
•Understands SDS Sheets.
•Nursing Home Experience Preferred
