The Prince George’s County Department of Permitting, Inspections, & Enforcement is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Building Structural Engineer I-II (Engineering 1G) position, grade G23/26, in the Building Plan ReviewDivision.
About the Position:
This is a junior level engineering position in the Division of Building Plan Review, Building/Structural Section. Work requires sound independent professional judgment and responsibility in lower-level professional, paraprofessional and clerical administrative support staff as well as technical engineering personnel under the general supervision of higher-level management personnel. Works includes performing the review of construction documents, involving the application of basic architectural, ADA, structural engineering principle in all phases of plan review with enforcement of the County and National Codes.About The Agency:
The Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement (DPIE) is responsible for coordinating and enforcing standards that control what goes on before, during, and after construction. Staff from nine agencies, who work cooperatively on permit processing, business licensing, plan review, inspection and enforcement comprise Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement. The Mission of the Department of Permitting, Inspections, and Enforcement is to promote economic development in Prince George's County and protect the safety of County residents, businesses, and visitors through efficient permitting, inspection and licensing services to ensure compliance with established building, zoning and property standards codes.
